Korean Verb Conjugation (여요)

This is the third and final method of verb conjugation in Korean and this time it focuses on 하다 verbs. 하다, on its own, means to do and it is attached to many nouns to make their verb forms. Here are some examples.

사랑 (love)
사랑하다 (to love)

후회 (regret)
후회하다 (to regret)

노래 (song)
노래하다 (to sing)

To conjugate ‘하다’, we get rid of  and replace it with –여요.

사랑하 --- 사랑하여요
후회하 --- 후회하여요
노래하 --- 노래하여요

But that is not the end of it. For ease of pronunciation, we merge theand  together and they become as if it is an automatic process.

사랑하여 becomes 사랑해요
후회하여 becomes 후회해요
노래하여 becomes 노래해요
